Crossing the border, these artists trace ways in which people, objects, stories, and beliefs traverse liminal spaces not only physically, but also emotionally, conceptually, and sometimes even paranormally. In Sweet Dreams Vol. 2, Luis Alonso Sánchez creates a space without traced pathways. Burned wood, sound darkness, and intermittent flashes of light produce an uncanny space. The spectator, as protagonist, moves through sensations of unbounded nightmares and unarticulated memories, evoking the feeling of a body trapped within a dream, unable to fully awaken. Suspended within this memoryscape, the artworks reveal presences whose sources remain unseen and spectral. Modern Lovers and Sweet Dreams Vol. 2 is open from October 21 - December 11.
