Matriculation and Class Photo
Matriculation is an old tradition, originating in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries that marked the moment when students signed the register of the college or university and enrolled in the institution. It is at this ceremony when all new students (both first-years and transfers) officially become part of the University of Puget Sound and its history. During this event, students are formally welcomed to the Puget Sound community of scholars by the university's provost, ASUPS Vice President, and one of our most distinguished faculty teacher-scholars. In addition, students will learn the university's Alma Mater, proclaim their intellectual and creative aspirations, sign the official register of the university, and finally gather for the class photo.
