This event is a great opportunity to connect and network with the Logger community and hear campus updates. Wednesday, May 205:30–8 p.m.Presentation Topic: Cultural Negotiation in Music Education How do we choose what music is taught in K–12 schools in such a diverse nation? Music education as a means of cultural preservation and celebration can be taught using a multitude of frameworks, three of which are: culturally responsive teaching, world music pedagogy, and culture-based music education. Associate Professor of Music Education Tina Huynh will explore how these approaches can stand alone, overlap, and intertwine. Pūpū and refreshments are included.
