Add to Calendar 2026-04-03 19:30:00 2026-03-14 02:11:39 Faculty recital featuring Tracy Doyle, flute, with special guests Join us for a Jacobsen Series concert featuring Tracy Doyle, flute, with special guests. The program, Landscapes in Sound, will include works by Esmail, Dicke, Farr, and Harrison. This faculty recital explores the many ways composers have turned to the natural world for inspiration. From birdsong and flowing water to shifting light, open skies, and elemental forces, each work on the program reflects a different facet of our relationship with nature. The flute, with its breath-driven sound is uniquely suited to evoke wind, air, and the organic rhythms of the earth. Together, these pieces invite listeners to pause, listen closely, and reconnect with the beauty, fragility, and expressive power of the world around us.  Special guests performing on the program: Dawn Padula, mezzo-soprano Maria Sampen, violin Tim Christie, viola Alistair MacRae, cello Gwynne Brown, piano Ronaldo Rolim, piano James Doyle, marimba and vibraphone                       About the Series The Jacobsen Series was established in 1984 in honor of Leonard Jacobsen, former chair and professor of Puget Sound’s piano department.
