McCall will share some facts about how movement promotes health and well-being prior to the walk. This activity is part of the Exercise is Medicine on Campus project to promote a campus culture of physical activity. Puget Sound's campus program was initiated by the Exercise Science department in 2021 as part of the senior capstone course and continues to provide activities and events along with partnering departments including the Department of Physical Therapy and Human Resources.  October is declared as Exercise is Medicine on Campus month! The Exercise Science department, in partnership with Physical Therapy, Human Resources, and other campus partners, is hosting a variety of events to promote health and wellness on campus.  Wednesday, Oct. 9 | Movement Challenge Kickoff Event Human Resources, the Exercise Science Department, the School of Physical Therapy, and Exercise is Medicine On Campus are co-sponsoring the University of Puget Sound 2024 Movement Challenge. This year’s event is designed to foster community, well-being, and a dose of healthy competition. Light snacks and fresh pressed juice will be provided. Complete the Movement Challenge Details via this link and join us in the Library 053.  Friday, Oct. 11 | 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. | Guest Speaker Frank Forencich Guest speaker Frank Forencich will lead a 30-minute discussion on “The human predicament” (i.e., sedentarism vs. movement, sick care vs. healthcare, etc.), followed by 30-60 minutes of movements that blend functionality with creativity.Wheelock Student Center, Murray Boardroom.
