Shannon’s territories are: Southwest Washington, Washington’s Olympic Peninsula

Where are you from?
Seattle, Washington

Do you have a favorite place in Tacoma?
My favorite place is Titlow Beach Park. There is a great walking path right along the water with awesome views of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

Name a class at Puget Sound you are interested in, but haven’t taken.
All of them! What I love about a liberal arts education is that you are taught to be a lifelong learner. In the balance of my professional and personal life, I haven’t found the opportunity to take a class at Puget Sound. That said, I am appreciative of the opportunity to participate in lectures and events that push my thinking.

What is a book that has been influential for you?
Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. I first read this book in high school and it has been a favorite ever since. I love the relatability of the characters that Steinbeck portrays in his work. The hope within the desperation of the situation has always resonated with me as an eternal optimist.
