Joel Eklof

Assistant Professor, Environmental Studies and Sciences

Joel Eklof investigates how warming climates transform vulnerable landscapes—from thawing permafrost in Alaska to heat‑stressed neighborhoods in Tacoma. As a hydrologist‑engineer, he explores how water and energy reshape environments. He also designs, leads, and evaluates STEAM programs for underserved youth in climate impacted areas, creating opportunities for the next generation of scientists.
