Clinical Assistant Professor, Occupational Therapy
Jackie graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA with a B.S. degree in 2000, and her post-professional doctorate degree in occupational therapy in 2019. She has worked primarily in outpatient pediatric clinics throughout her career and has advanced training in sensory integration (certificate #1602), Ayres Sensory Integration (CASI #1554), certified autism specialist (certification #ACAS172631, DIRFloortime® Provider: Certificate of Proficiency, Reiki Master, and craniosacral therapy techniques. Jackie enjoys working with clients who have sensory processing disorders, autism, praxis difficulties and owned a private pediatric therapy clinic in Silverdale, WA for twelve years. Jackie is also the author of a children’s book released in 2019 titled Meet the Overs and the Unders: An Activity Book to Help Children Understand Their Sensory Needs. She continues her role in the School of Occupational Therapy as a Clinical Assistant Professor teaching in Pediatrics, Neuroscience, Management and is the current Experiential Learning in Context (ELiC) Coordinator and Pediatric Clinic Coordinator. In her free time Jackie enjoys traveling with her husband and daughter, exploring new places, crocheting, reading, geocaching, playing and collecting board games, and spending time with friends and family.
