Elisa Frankel

Assistant Professor, Biology

Elisa Frankel is a neurobiologist exploring how neurons build and maintain synapses, the essential connections that underlie nervous system function. Her lab leverages the simplicity of the nematode C. elegans, a tiny worm with just 302 neurons, together with modern genetic and cell biological techniques, to study how synapses form and change over time. Dr. Frankel engages undergraduates directly in this research and teaches across topics in cell and molecular biology.
