Dear Members of the Campus Community,
As we start the 2026-27 academic year, I am writing on behalf of the Presidential Search Committee to share an update on the progress of the search for the University of Puget Sound’s 15th president.
Since our last update in April, the Presidential Search Committee has continued its work over the summer, meeting to finalize the Presidential Search Prospectus and review inclusive search practices to ensure a thorough, equitable, and rigorous evaluation process.
Concurrently, our search partners at DSG Storbeck began actively recruiting and engaging a broad, diverse pool of potential candidates. To reach top leaders across higher education, DSG Storbeck has advertised the position across multiple national platforms and targeted publications, including The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, HigherEdJobs, LGBTQ in Higher Ed, Women in Higher Ed, and Veterans in Higher Ed.
The DSG team is enthusiastic about the strength of the candidate pool generated through these outreach efforts. The search committee has now begun reviewing and evaluating candidates in preparation for conducting first-round interviews later this month. We remain on track to meet the timeline shared on the Presidential Search website.
We are committed to keeping our campus community informed throughout this process and will share another update following the completion of first-round interviews. If you have any questions or feedback in the meantime, please reach out via email to presidentsearch2026@
Thank you for your continued engagement and support.
Sincerely,
Beth Picardo ’83, J.D. ’86 | Chair of the Presidential Search Committee | Chair of the Board of Trustees
