Dear Puget Sound Community,
We have been listening to student feedback about the 2026–27 meal plans. We understand that students need time to experience the new plans and determine which option best fits the way they dine. In response, we have extended the deadline for students to change their residential meal plan to Friday, Oct. 9.
Students who would like to select a different plan should email Student Financial Services at sfs@pugetsound.edu by Oct. 9. We are sharing this information with the full campus community so faculty and staff can also help direct students to accurate information and resources.
How the new meal plans work:
We recognize that the new structure represents a meaningful shift, particularly for returning students who were accustomed to Dining Dollars.
Under the previous system, Dining Dollars operated like a declining cash balance, with funds deducted after each purchase. Under the new system, students receive a set number of meal swipes each week. This provides consistent access to meals throughout the semester without the risk of exhausting an entire semester’s balance early.
Meal swipes reset each Sunday at 12:01 a.m. Students who have swipes remaining near the end of the week may use Meal Exchange at participating campus locations for eligible food and beverage purchases of up to $12.
Ways to use your dining account:
- Meal Swipes: Meal swipes are used for meals in the Diner. Each plan includes a weekly allotment that resets every Sunday at 12:01 a.m.
- Meal Exchange: Meal Exchange allows students to use a meal swipe for up to $12 in eligible food and beverage purchases at campus cafés, the Cellar, the Logger Store, or through Mobile Dining. If an order exceeds $12, students may pay the remaining amount with FlexCash or LoggerCash.
- FlexCash: FlexCash is a declining balance included with each residential meal plan. It may be used for food and beverage purchases at campus dining locations, the Logger Store, or through Mobile Dining. Food and beverage purchases made with FlexCash receive a 15 percent discount.
- LoggerCash: LoggerCash is a separate declining balance account available to students, faculty, and staff. It may be used for food, beverages, and retail purchases at campus dining locations and the Logger Store, as well as through Mobile Dining. Food and beverage purchases receive a 15 percent discount, and anyone who adds $100 or more receives a $10 bonus.
- Mobile Dining: Mobile Dining allows you to order ahead from your phone and receive a notification when your order is ready. Meal Exchange, FlexCash, and LoggerCash may all be used for mobile orders. You can learn more and download the Mobile Dining app on the Mobile Dining webpage.
Changing your meal plan: To change your residential meal plan, email Student Financial Services at sfs@pugetsound.edu by Friday, Oct. 9.
