Dear Campus Community,
We are writing to follow up on our previous message regarding the national Canvas outage and cybersecurity incident affecting Instructure, the company that provides our Canvas learning management system.
Earlier this evening, Instructure restored access to Canvas, and some Puget Sound users may have been able to briefly log onto the system during this time. However, the university has not yet received official notification from Instructure that the incident has been fully resolved. Out of an abundance of caution, the university has decided to disable access to Canvas until additional information is available from Instructure. We are aware that many other colleges and universities are taking similar precautionary measures.
We acknowledge this disruption adds uncertainty to the end of the academic year, and we appreciate your patience as we confirm resolution of the issue. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide the campus with further updates as information becomes available.Sincerely,
