Dear Members of the Campus Community,

I invite you to join me, Dave Wright, and other colleagues for an event where we can collectively give witness against racism.

Sadly, our campus recently experienced yet again the deep harm and damage that racism inflicts on individuals and on communities. Such events highlight that we live in an environment that sustains conditions for racism, which continues to be part of our daily lives. Join us as we create a space where we can acknowledge the harm and recognize our responsibility in sustaining such an environment, and where we can identify the actions we can take individually and collectively to craft an environment that does not allow prejudice and racism to exist.

We have invited a number of colleagues to share reflections and be witnesses against racism. This event will take place on Tuesday, December 6, 12–12:45 p.m. in the Tahoma Room.

Sincerely,

Lorna Hernandez Jarvis, PhD (She/Her/Hers)
VP for Institutional Equity and Diversity
