Dear Loggers,

I hope that your fall break was restful and that you have arrived back on campus ready for the remainder of the semester.

I am sad to say that the flu has also arrived on our campus! This week, we have seen the first confirmed cases of influenza within our campus community. One of the best ways to avoid getting the flu is to get your flu shots TOMORROW (Thursday, October 20) during the CHWS walk-in Flu Vaccine Clinic (students only) from 12pm - 2pm. No appointment required. Flu vaccines are $25 and will be billed to your student account.

CHWS is located upstairs in the Wheelock Student Center, Room 216.

Interested in learning more about MPV (monkeypox)? The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department will be holding an MPV (monkeypox) Info Session and Vaccine Clinic in CHWS on Tuesday, October 25 from 4pm – 7pm. The info session is open to students/staff/faculty who have questions about MPV risk, prevention, or general MPV questions. The info session will be very informal (held in the CHWS lobby with Q&A format) - drop-ins are expected and encouraged!
For those interested in getting the MPV vaccine on that day, it’s important to note the vaccine is still limited nationwide. For this reason, eligibility criteria apply. Vaccine eligibility is determined through self-attestation through the registration link for the clinic. If you have questions about MPV vaccine eligibility, please visit the registration link, and/or attend the info session. MPV vaccines are free.

Here is the link to register for an MPV vaccine at the clinic on October 25: https://form.jotform.com/222835078030148

Please reach out if you have any questions.
