Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy Nieraeth ’93, M.Ed. ‘00 as Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Chief People Officer, a strategic leadership position responsible for establishing and executing a human resources strategy to further Puget Sound’s mission and strategic priorities, cultivate high employee morale and effectiveness, and foster an inviting and inclusive community. Nancy believes strongly in the value of a residential liberal arts education, is a proud Logger, and looks forward to partnering with colleagues across campus.

Nancy comes to us from the Human Resources team at University of Oregon, where she has served since 2015 and where she earned a reputation as a strong leader, strategic partner, advocate for diversity, trusted collaborator, and someone who gets things done and moves initiatives forward in a thoughtful and principled manner. Many of you will remember Nancy from when she served as Director of Employment and People Development, among other roles, within Human Resources at Puget Sound from 2004 to 2015, or perhaps you knew her in the classroom. Nancy earned a bachelor’s degree in English and an M.Ed. in counseling from the University of Puget Sound.

Nancy’s appointment will begin in early December. In the meantime, please join me in expressing appreciation to Interim Associate Vice President for Human Resources Erin Ruff and the entire Human Resources team for their work in supporting our campus community during this transition.

Sincerely,

Sherry
