Dear Faculty and Staff,

Human Resources is pleased to offer a new opportunity to infuse mindfulness into our daily lives. Starting next Monday, March 28, we will offer 20-minute virtual sessions every other week, where we can come together as a community to learn about the benefits of mindfulness and self-care practices. Sessions will be facilitated by Drew Ebersole and Sherry Hammond, principals at Accel 180.

During these twenty-minute sessions, faculty and staff will:

  • Learn about the benefits of mindfulness and self-care practices
  • Practice a skill each session to deepen mindfulness for you
  • Encourage one another in experimentation and implementation of the practices between sessions
  • Get answers to your questions about challenges and applications of mindfulness

We will offer bi-monthly sessions on Mondays at 8:30 a.m. and on Wednesdays at 12:00 noon for twenty minutes. Each week we will introduce a new topic, and you can attend either the Monday or Wednesday session to participate.

These sessions will be iterative so attending each week is encouraged, although drop-ins for any of the sessions are welcome. Attend at least one session a month to be entered in a monthly drawing where two participants will receive a complimentary coaching session with Drew or Sherry.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS:
Drew and Sherry have a combined 20 years of mindfulness experience and a unique way to make self-care practices simple, applicable, relevant and even enjoyable! In the fall we offered an eight-week mindfulness series facilitated by Drew and Sherry. Here are some testimonials from a few of the participants:

“I loved the eight-week Mindfulness program with Drew and Sherry. This was a great introduction to establishing a meditation practice and the benefits of becoming more mindful on a daily basis. Drew and Sherry were very warm and engaging, creating a welcoming space to connect and learn with others. The program covered substantial content that always included resources for continued instruction and growth."
—Karen Stump, Certification Officer, Admissions Coordinator

“Sherry and Drew are wonderful facilitators. I so appreciate the opportunity to participate in the mindfulness training that they offered to Puget Sound community. It has permeated my life in the best of ways! I find myself regularly reflecting on the simple-yet-powerful lessons — incorporating the exercises and noticing the benefits in my relationships, my work, and my sense of well-being.”
—Kris Hay, Communications Coordinator
