The ASUPS Senate is the legislative body that establishes and reviews all policies, affairs, and activities of ASUPS. It is in charge of finalizing the use of your ASUPS funds. In addition, the ASUPS Senate confirms all appointments made by the Executive branch as well as recognizes student clubs as official ASUPS clubs. Finally, the Senate has the ultimate power to amend the ASUPS budget, Constitution, and Bylaws.

There are twelve senator positions: First-Year Senator, Sophomore Senator, Junior Senator, Senior Senator, Greek Senator, Residence Hall Senator, Off-Campus Senator, On-Campus House Senator, and four Senators at Large. Senators are elected during the first six weeks of each semester, depending on the position. Each term will last an entire year, with the exception of the First-Year Senator which will last half a year and the Senior Senator which will last a year and a half.
The Senate meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. in the ASUPS Office, Wheelock 210. All are welcome and encouraged to attend!

About: My name is Winston Zapet Bamac and I am serving as a Senator-at-Large and the Senate Chair for the coming 2026-2027 academic year. My time as President of the ASUPS was memorable for a multitude of reasons, but what underlines all of them is that I got to work with peers from all around campus and interacted with students eager to make change on campus. About: My name is Noelani Moffat, and I am serving as the Senior Senator for the 2026-27 school year! As the former ASUPS Director of Clubs and Student Interests, I'm no stranger to hearing student voices, and I am excited to engage with them in this new role to ensure their needs are heard and met. Outside of ASUPS, I am a Biochemistry major with minors in SOAN and Mathematics. I love exploring the outdoors, learning new things, and spending time with friends. I’m always ready to talk about ways to improve the student experience, so don’t be afraid to say hi!

I am currently serving as Alpha Phi’s VP of Health, Wellness & Accountability and I love going backpacking, hiking, camping, skiing and anything outdoors! I am so excited to serve as Junior Senator this year!

I am a sophomore majoring in German Studies and Politics & Government, and I have the pleasure of serving as chair for the ASUPS Food, Health and Safety Committee.
This committee serves as a forum for discussing views and concerns of the student body that are pertinent to Dining and Conference Services, Security Services, and the Center for Health and Wellness Services. The committee forwards concerns put forth by YOU, the student body, and proposes objectives to best serve the Puget Sound community. Feel free to join us during our bi-monthly committee meetings in WSC 202!
Apart from ASUPS Senate, I also work at the Center for Writing & Learning as a Subject Tutor and as a Student leader for MRID. Outside of class you can often find me strolling around Divs, Thompson or baking delicious goodies. Please do not hesitate to join and chat with me, I am always excited to make new connections.
