Puget Sound’s closest airport is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA or Sea-Tac). There are several methods of transportation that students can take to and from Sea-Tac airport for holiday and summer breaks. If you have questions, please contact the Dean of Students office.
Premier Airport Shuttle
Premier Airport Shuttle offers Student Discounts and early booking discounts online. This service will pick passengers up on campus and drop them directly to their terminal at the airport. They offer a shared ride option which can be booked for one passenger, or private vans for between 7 and 14 passengers, which can be booked by one student and shared between hallmates or friends who are traveling to the airport on the same day.
Public Transit
We recommend downloading the Transit app to see real-time updates on bus and train arrivals.
Sound Transit Bus 574 runs from the Tacoma Dome station approximately every 30 minutes and drops passengers at the airport entrance. Students should take the bus which leaves at least 2 hours and 40 minutes prior to their flight departure. The schedule is available on Sound Transit’s website.
The Tacoma Dome station is an 11 minute drive from campus, so students have the option of carpooling with a friend, calling Uber/Lyft, or taking local transit.
Taking public transit from campus to the Tacoma Dome station takes approximately 45-55 minutes. The Transit app can be used to see different options, including taking one bus with more walking, or reducing walking and transferring busses.
Pre-loaded ORCA cards (the Puget Sound region’s transit farecard) are available for free from the ASUPS office. We recommend scheduling ahead to be sure there is a card available.
