While the University of Puget Sound is primarily a residential campus and requires all students to live on-campus for their first two academic years with the university, nearly 30 percent of University of Puget Sound students live in the surrounding community. Of those students living off campus, about 80 percent live in the North End neighborhood, within one mile of campus.
Off-Campus Student Services works closely with other university offices and community organizations to provide information, resources, advice, and support for students living off campus or considering such a move. Our hope is to help students remain connected to campus and become more informed regarding the ins and outs of living successfully as local renters and residents.
Our website features housing listings that are updated daily, tips for house-hunting and sample documents such as lease agreements and condition check-lists. In addition, our office works to educate students about off campus living through workshops, presentations, and one-on-one advising. Finding a good, safe place to live is the important first step when moving off campus and starting out with a fair lease will most likely lead to a smooth rental experience.
