Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour - Tacoma
December 1 & 2 - two shows with different films each night

Join PSO and The Mountaineers  Tacoma branch for the 10th year of the Banff Mountain film festival world tour.  Each year we co-sponsor this event to bring the best outdoor films to Tacoma.  The event supports leader training and other PSO programs.

Which class is right for you?


Discounted Lift Tickets - for Crystal Mt and the Summit

Discounted ski tickets available to Crystal Mountain and the Summit.  Save $10-$14 off of ski tickets for faculty, staff, students and dependents.  Tickets are good for the whole season and can be used any day.

  • Crystal tickets are $59 regularly $68
  • Summit adult tickets are $51 and are regularly $64
  • Summit youth tickets are $36 regularly $44
  • Summit lesson package includes – ski/snowboard rental, ½ day lesson and lift ticket for $76.

Come by the Expeditionary beginning on December 1 until break and then once classes resume in January.  Expy hours M-F 4:00pm – 7:00pm or calls us at x3403.

Avalanche Awareness and Certification Courses

    For those interested in getting out snowshoeing, xc skiing and backcountry skiing
    • December 9 at 7:00pm at the Tacoma REI
    • January 27 at 7:00pm at the Tacoma REI


  • Avalanche Level 1 Certification Course

For folks who actively want to ski, board, mountaineer, or ice climb in avalanche prone terrain.

Backcountry Adventure Guides are offering a discount for Puget Sound Students
The owner of the BCA is an alumni so tell him that Justin sent you when you apply online.
The classroom sessions will be at the Tacoma Mountaineers at the bottom of 30th street.

6:30pm to 10:00pm @Tacoma Mountaineers Clubhouse 2302 N 30th St.

Field sessions:
there are 2 full days in the field  - the field classes are usually be at Snoqualmie Pass.  Sign up for a field weekend when you sign up for the class.

Cost is $250 - most courses are $295 - $325
