Scheduled Maintenance Windows

Technology Services schedules regular maintenance windows to ensure a secure and reliable computing environment. See the Latest Update.

A regular maintenance window generally takes place the second Sunday of every month from 3:00 a.m. to noon.

Monthly maintenance windows alternate between production servers and pre-production servers. Maintenance windows for prodution servers can impact the availability of these and other services:

  • Puget Sound Web
  • Puget Sound Email
  • Cascade
  • PeopleSoft
  • Personal and Departmental Shares

General users of university services should not experience any impact during maintenance windows for pre-production servers (development and test).

  • Pre-Production Server Patch Maintenance is scheduled for 3/8/2015 [Completed]

    [Update 03/08/2015 10:15 a.m.] We have successfully transitioned the mailflow from using edge.pugetsound.edu to using Microsoft’s Exchange Online Protection directly. This was a step towards decommissioning the Exchange 2007 environment.  Also the Pre-Production Server Patch Maintenance has been completed successfully.  Thank you!

    [Original] Pre-Production Server Patch Maintenance is scheduled for Sunday, 3/8/2015, from 3 a.m. to noon. This should NOT affect any production services such as email, individual and departmental file shares, database applications, or web services (Moodle, vDesk, etc.).If an issue is encountered, please contact the Technology Service Desk at 253.879.8585 or servicedesk@pugetsound.edu.
