Allergens & Special Dietary Needs

Food allergen icons

The University of Puget Sound is committed to providing all of our students with safe and nutritious foods to eat. We are available to assist each student individually with their specific dietary needs.

We have created a series of icons identifying the primary allergen and dietary groups to help students identify which menu items best meet their needs. The icons are used on all menu signage.

Our Gluten Icon has changed!!

Items will no longer be labeled Gluten Free. Going forward items will be labeled if they Contain Gluten.

Important note about CONTAINS GLUTEN

Many of our menu items are, in themselves, gluten free. It is very important to note, however, that our facility is not gluten free and there is always the potential for cross-contamination.

Kosher options

To maintain both a supportive and diverse community, DCS offers many Kosher options throughout the Diner. Below is a list of our Kosher snacks and beverages offered during all regular operating hours.

Important note about Gluten free
Many of our menu items are, in themselves, gluten free and are labeled as such. It is very important to note, however, that our facility is not gluten free and there is always the potential for cross-contamination.

Items noted with the gluten free icon (above) do not contain gluten and are cooked separately from other items.

Items that are gluten free but are cooked on equipment shared with items containing gluten are not called out as being gluten free due to the increased risk of cross-contamination

E.g. scrambled eggs cooked on the same griddle as pancakes.
