Frequently Asked Questions

We accept both cash and card payments, but prefer cash.

Unfortunately, we do not hold items since we sell on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have something specific in mind, we encourage you to hit the sale early, as we’ve seen folks start lining up as early as one hour before opening!

Due to limited staffing, we cannot help anyone move. Please make prior arrangements or ask a friend to help transport large items.

We plug in all electronics and test if they can be turned on before the sale. However, if you purchase a device that does not work, please dispose of it properly. For example, mini-fridges do not go in the trash and must be disposed of by an approved recycler. Because we sell items at such low prices, we cannot issue refunds.

To minimize waste and maximize reuse, Sustainability Services secures donation and recycling partners for leftover inventory months before Move-Out. In 2023, we donated over 1,600 pounds of clothing to the New Jerusalem Haitian Baptist Church for fundraising efforts, over 30 bags of bedding to the Men’s Mission for use in its shelters, and sent a U-Haul truck full of foam mattress toppers to the NW Furniture Bank for recycling. We have also donated to local second-hand stores such as Goodwill, Mission Thrift, and Value Village. Unfortunately, we often need to landfill items that are not approved or in poor condition. We encourage students to clean their donations for the best chance that they will be reused.
