About

Sound policies restore and sustain the natural environment in balance with a healthy, prosperous and just community. The Sound Policy Institute builds the capacity of individuals and groups, both on our campus and in our regional community, to actively and effectively engage in environmental decision making. The Institute provides opportunities for:

  • The Environmental Policy & Decision Making Program at the University to build community based learning opportunities into course work and research addressing pressing environmental issues,
  • Faculty across academic disciplines and higher education institutions to integrate big ideas of sustainability into teaching and learning,
  • Community members to engage in life-long environmental learning experiences with courses, field trips, training sessions, and other events.
