THE SUMMER IMMERSION INTERNSHIP PROGRAMsummer internship

Internships are a valuable part of career preparation, but not every student can afford to participate in an unpaid internship program. The Summer Immersion Internship Program is designed to support talented Puget Sound students who otherwise may not be able to take an unpaid internship. Sixteen Pierce County organizations will host Puget Sound students for a ten-week assignment where participants will work at least 30 hours each week, two of which will be reserved for a weekly educational component on campus. These weekly educational seminars will provide students with the opportunity to connect their intern experience with their academic discipline. Students will engage in ongoing reflection and self-assessment culminating in a final presentation at a campus symposium in the Fall ‘16.

Intern participants will be awarded $3000 for their 10-week participation in the program. In addition to the monetary award, interns will also receive ten-weeks of on-campus housing.

For every $3,000 raised, another student can participate in this innovative internship program.

ALUMNI FUND SCHOLARSHIPBrenna Fisher '16

Nearly two-thirds of Puget Sound students receive need-based financial aid. You can help these students achieve their goals and realize their dreams by making a gift to support an Alumni Fund Scholarship. In 2015–16, the Alumni Fund Scholarships totaled $150,000 in awards to 23 students.

For every $7,000 raised, another student receives an award.
