Loggers in Tacoma

Loggers in Tacoma is a collaboration between the Civic Engagement Pathway Program and ASUPS. Each month we offer students easy, engaging, low-cost ways to get off campus and get involved in the greater Tacoma community. Students can sign up to participate in monthly volunteer and community engagement events.  

Examples of past Tacoma-engagement events include:

  • Tacoma Arts Month Studio Tour
  • Making jam for the On-Campus Food Pantry at St. Leo's Food Connection
  • "The Immigrants" performance at Seattle Repertory Theater with Spectrum Dance
  • Art show of Native artists for Standing Rock
  • Tacoma City Council meeting
  • Joining the Bay Patrol to monitor Port of Tacoma companies' environmental practices with Citizens for a Healthy Bay

Examples of past volunteer events include:

  • Owen Beach clean-up
  • Hilltop Urban Gardens (HUG) garden help
  • Tacoma Urban Performing Arts Center (T.U.P.A.C.) work party
  • Tacoma Rescue Mission food prep and service
  • Emergency Food Network repacking for local food pantries
