Serni Solidarios, Director of Student Programs

Forget about sitting down, if you want to get involved in campus life. Serni Solidarios brings a whole new level to student activity planning by ingeniously integrating diversity, cocurricular, technical, and marketing techniques into an energetic tapestry of opportunites designed to enhance any student's leisure time. With an extensive background of over two decades in student activities work, and nationwide corporate event consulting for numerous Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit agencies, and product launches, his thorough familiarity with the networks related to the performing arts and events industry seamlessly mix opportunities for students to further extend their classroom experiences, and to create exciting events for Puget Sound. (For the record, top ten list of favorite events presented during his tenure: The Boys Choir of Harlem, Dizzy Gillespie, Robin Williams, Cornel West, Nancy Wilson, Chinese Acrobats, Macklemore, Maroon 5, Philip Glass, Homecoming Superferry Cruises, and the University's Centennial Celebration.). He also loves collaborating with faculty and staff on projects both on and off campus, and is a past recipient of the Staff Member of the Year Award. Past affiliations include board memberships on the Tacoma Arts Commission, the Urban League, advisory board member for Hawaiian Airlines, and co-founder of the Pacific NW National Association of Campus Activities. And, when time permits, Serni also moonlights as an in-demand pianist and flutist; the Seattle Weekly described him as an "electric troubador", and the Seattle music monthly, The Rocket, listed him as a "cross between George Winston and Jerry Lee Lewis", and as a "new age society pianist for the obscenely rich" (Note: don't ask him for his clients - he's had to sign nondisclosure forms!).
