Thank you for your interest in reserving a service at Kilworth Memorial Chapel. We are currently accepting limited reservations and deposits for weddings, memorials, and similar religious services (Services) that occur on or after August 1, 2020. At present we are only able to add services that have a personal connection to University students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The university’s activities are dependent on Washington’s phased reopening from the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, all Services will need to comply with the currently active Campus operating plan and policies and state guidance for religious/spiritual communities and services. Current details are posted below. By submitting your reservation request, and/or signing your reservation agreement, you acknowledge that you understand there is uncertainty associated with timeframes for reopening, and that changes in the Campus operating plan and policies and state guidance may lead to changes in what is possible for your Service, up to and including cancellation.
We recognize that these life-marking events are often challenging and stressful in the best of times, and will work within the bounds of current federal, state, campus, and county direction to do all in our power to best meet your needs. In the event of a cancellation, any payments or deposits will be fully refunded to you.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or would like to discuss your particular needs or situation.
Attendance: While in Phases 1 & 2, KMC can only accommodate 30 guests (including all service participants, but not including University Staff working at an event). We anticipate that when Pierce County enters Phase 3, we will be able to accommodate 50 guests.
Social Distancing & Face Coverings: All guests are required to wear face coverings (as directed by the Washington State Department of Health and in compliance with Campus Policy) while on campus. In addition, guests are required to be seated at least six feet from other guests who do not live in the same household. We strongly encourage seating charts be prepared in advance.
Health Screening: All guests and staff will receive a contactless temperature check prior to entering the Chapel. No one with a fever of over 100.4F will be allowed to enter the facility. Per state guidelines, all staff and guests are required to self-screen at home for fever over 100.4F or other symptoms of COVID-19 prior to coming to campus, and are not allowed to come to campus if they are symptomatic or live in the same household with someone who is symptomatic.
Ventilation: At least 50% of the Chapel windows will be opened at least 30 minutes before your reservation start time, will need to remain open throughout your reservation, and will be left open until our staff leave.
Cleaning: The Chapel will be thoroughly cleaned both before and after your reservation start time.
