Civic Engagement Pathway Program

The Civic Engagement Pathway Program is designed to help students make the most of their time here at Puget Sound. It is a holistic program that brings together students' academic work, residential living opportunities, club involvement, community service, activism and advocacy experiences, and getting to know the city of Tacoma. Participants benefit from one-on-one mentoring and individual consultations to design their own group outings and service projects.

Throughout the four-year program, participants will engage in a variety of different activities to strengthen their connections to both the Puget Sound and Tacoma communities.  Students who elect to join the pathway program will meet with pathway advisers and learn how to enroll and track their involvement in the following components:

The program progresses each year, beginning with an expansive civic engagement survey and moving to more focused pathways based on individual students' interests.  Students who excel in the program may be invited to serve as Pathway Advisers following completion of two years of the program or demonstrated skills.

Track your involvement and capture your engagement and skill-building for your resume using our new Student Engagement Log Form.   This form works best in Internet Explorer.
