Who is required to perform and who may perform?

Students Obtaining a Degree in:

Bachelor of Music in Performance

  • Required Recitals: Junior Year ½ recital; Senior Year full recital
  • Performance major must enroll in Music 422 for the term they are performing their junior/senior recitals

Bachelor of Music in Composition

  • Required Recitals: Senior Year full recital

All Other School of Music Students:

  • May perform a recital at their instructors’ discretion. See scheduling and accompanist information below. Students who are not performance majors may elect to register in Music 422 if given approval by their instructor to do so.

NOON CONVOCATION STUDENT PERFORMANCES

Noon Convocation Student Performances take place on Wednesdays during the common hour (typically from 12-1 p.m. PT). Dates are announced at the beginning of each semester. Students or ensembles are normally limited to 10 minutes of performance—exceptions to this limit must be at the consent of the student’s applied music instructor or ensemble coach and are contingent on scheduling.

Dates for Spring 2023: Wednesday, Feb. 22, Wednesday, March 22, Wednesday, April 19, and Wednesday, April 26.

Who is required to perform and who may perform?

Students Obtaining Degrees in:

Bachelor of Music in Music Education
Bachelor of Music with Elective Studies in Business
Bachelor of Arts in Music

  • Required: One performance during Noon Convocation in both the junior and senior years

Bachelor of Music in Composition

  • Required Recitals: One performance during Noon Convocation in the junior year

All Other School of Music Students:

  • May perform during Noon Convocation as approved by their instructors
