Virtual Lecture and Conversation: "Confronting the Root Causes of the Climate Crisis"

In order to understand climate change, we have to study the systemic roots that have led to this crisis. This event will look at the system of gender-based violence as a root cause of climate change and explore how it is linked to capitalism, colonialism, racism ,and patriarchy. We will look at how gendered understandings of consumption, ownership, privilege, and supremacy have led to the degradation of the natural world and the brink of mass extinction on Planet Earth.

For The People community organizers work on climate justice, social justice, racial justice, economic justice, food justice, border justice, gender justice, Indigenous rights, and many other struggles and are based out of Seattle, Portland, and Whidbey Island.
