Roundtable: NW5 Mellon Science & Gender

The roundtable was initially inspired by the New York Times Magazine article on women in the sciences. NW5 faculty teaching in the sciences suggested the three topics for the roundtable session: a) Developing and refining courses on sciences and gender (moderated by Prof. David Craig, Willamette); b) Encouraging women in the sciences: obstacles/solutions (moderated by Prof. Shannon O’Leary, Lewis & Clark), c) Where to go from here? (moderated by Prof. Stacy Weiss, Puget Sound).

Entire roundtable is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students are invited to come from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and the last two talks. Students interested in attending should RSVP to Prof. Greta Austin (
