A celebration for all of us—with special guests, food, and information about the new major! In addition to providing information about the new major, we will celebrate this historic milestone in the life of the University. Puget Sound has one of the nation’s earliest programs in women’s studies (founded in 1971), and we have since 2015 explicitly included LGBTQ studies in the title of the program. And now, we will offer an academic major that focuses on critical, interdisciplinary, and intersectional approaches to issues related to gender and sexuality.
We are excited to have President Crawford provide welcoming remarks, and will be joined by Director of the Office of Intercultural Engagement Vivie Nguyen, alumnx Kelly Johnson '19, and Executive Director of the Washington State LGBTQ Commission J. Manny Santiago.
Please come and celebrate with us!
