Film: "Wasted!: The Story of Food Waste"

Wasted!: The Story of Food Waste aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food. Through the eyes of chef-heroes like Bourdain, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura, and Danny Bowien, audiences will see how the world’s most influential chefs make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes that create a more secure food system. Wasted! exposes the criminality of food waste and shows us how each of us can make small changes—all of them delicious—to solve one of the greatest problems of the 21st century.

The community is invited to attend a free screening of the newly released film Wasted!: The Story of Food Waste. The 90 minute film will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a brief discussion highlighting local community groups working to create a more resilient and sustainable food system.

Refreshments will be provided. This event is co-hosted by the City of Tacoma's Preventing Wasted Food Program and the University of Puget Sound's Sustainability Advisory Committee and the Center for Cultural Engagement. Please note that this film contains some mature language.
