Alternative Spring Break 2019

This spring break we will be turning a critical eye toward the continuing impacts of colonialism and empire on indigenous populations of the Northwest. We will be traveling throughout the Olympic peninsula and Puget Sound region to meet with and learn from Pacific Northwest Native Americans. We will examine the ways history continues to influence the challenges faced by many Native peoples and our role in the systems that perpetuate injustice and marginalization.

The Alternative Break Program will run from Saturday, March 16 through the end of the day on Friday, March 22. Applications are due on Jan. 23, 2019 with a registration fee of $100. There will be scholarships available to cover fee costs.
