TACOMA, Wash. – Yes, you can become a certified teacher in just a year! Come meet the faculty at University of Puget Sound’s School of Education to learn more about opportunities as a teacher or counselor and to discuss your education goals.

The School of Education will hold an information night, open to the public, from 7 to 9 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov.13 at Howarth Hall, Rm. 212, on campus. See below for directions and a map of the campus.

Faculty and staff from the Master of Arts in Teaching program and the Master of Education in Counseling program will share information about these graduate programs for the 2013–14 school year. They will explain what the programs involve, how to enroll, and the career opportunities that a master’s degree provides.

The Master of Arts in Teaching is a one-year, full-time program designed for students who already have an undergraduate degree and are seeking to combine teacher certification with graduate study in education.

The Master of Education program offers a degree in counseling and is for students who already have an undergraduate degree and who wish to enter counseling in the area of school counseling or mental health counseling. The program is designed to be convenient for working adults, with classes available in the late afternoon or early evening.
