The MAT cohort model creates an interactive environment in which learning happens with and from colleagues. You are supported to foster community and creativity, build leadership skills, and encourage collaborative learning and growth within and across content areas and grade levels.
Candidate Centered
An intentionally small cohort and student–to–teacher ratio allows us to focus on your individual growth within a shared learning experience. Because there is only one cohort each academic year, our faculty's attention is focused on you.
Strong Bonds
You and your MAT colleagues spend time together in local schools and university classrooms. In both these contexts (and even outside of these), you learn together, co-plan and teach, and create deeper connections to each other and the work you engage as teachers and learners.
Professional Network
For many, cohort relationships extend well-beyond the MAT academic year. Colleagues stay connected and continue supporting each other and networking about classroom dilemmas, professional development, and employment opportunities.
