Reservation charges vary with the event type. Current University of Puget Sound student-run campus events and community/campus memorials are free of charge. Wedding charges vary with the wedding party’s affiliation to the university. Wedding ceremony reservations are typically 4 hours long.

Pricing for off-campus community events is $100 for the first hour and $50 for every hour thereafter.
There are no other costs associated with the chapel rental unless you choose to extend your reservation. Please note that charges for photographers, florists, officiants, etc. are separate from the chapel rental and should be arranged between the wedding party and the vendor directly.
Reservation Extensions: If you would like to extend your reservation, you may do so with advanced notice and payment of $100 per extra hour.
For Weddings: We are happy to tentatively reserve a day and time for your wedding for up to two weeks free of charge. To make the reservation official, the full payment, reservation form, and contract are required before the tentative reservation expires.

For Off-Campus Community Events: We are happy to tentatively reserve a day and time for an off campus community event for up to two weeks free of charge. To make the reservation official, the full payment and contract are required.
For Weddings: A 4 hour rental, 1.5 hour rehearsal (usually held the day before), a Chapel Assistant to manage the building and run audio/visual equipment, use of audio/visual equipment/altar/piano and a few other chapel items, and table and chair setup and breakdown.
For Memorials/Celebrations of Life: Rental time, a Chapel Assistant to manage the building and run audio/visual equipment, use of audio/visual equipment/altar/piano and a few other chapel items, and table and chair setup and breakdown.
For Off-Campus Community Events: Rental time, a Chapel Assistant to manage the building and run audio/visual equipment, use of audio/visual equipment/altar/piano and a few other chapel items, and table and chair setup and breakdown.
We accept Visa/MasterCard or checks and money orders made out to University of Puget Sound.
All payments are final and non-refundable. You are welcome, however, to change the date and/or time of your reservation as often as you need.

253.879.2751. If you are tentatively reserving a date for your wedding, you may also use our wedding online reservation form. Chapel staff will be in touch within 24-72 hours of your request.
Reservations may be made for any day of the week between 9 a.m.-10 p.m., depending on the availability. If you need to book your reservation outside the normal hours, please contact the chapel office.
The earliest reservations can be booked is one year out. If you are within the year requirement, it is best to make your reservation as soon as possible.

The chapel itself is accessible via a ramp. In the sanctuary, there is space for wheelchair user seating in the front pew. The chancel is accessible via wheelchair lift, which can be operated by the chapel staff if needed. There is also an elevator that goes from the main floor to the lounge. Unfortunately, the Gail Day Chapel and Mildred Collins Bennett Dressing Room upstairs are not accessible.
Yes! The entire chapel is booked when you make your official reservation. You are welcome to use Gail Day Chapel and the Mildred Collins Bennett Dressing Room on the second floor to get ready as well as the Multi-faith room and lounge on the basement level to get ready also.
Though the Chapel does not have a "green room" per se, we are happy to open any of the 2nd floor or basement level rooms, provided they are available, to serve as a "green room".
We have a variety of audio/visual capabilities including microphones (standing, wireless, and lapel) with mic cords, a data projector and screen in both the main chapel and the lounge, sound system with CD and IPOD capability in both the main chapel and the lounge, laptop, DVD player, and direct input box. Chapel guests are welcome to use the chapel audio/visual equipment free of charge. Chapel staff will be assigned to run all audio/visual equipment.
Food and non-alcoholic drinks are only permitted in the lounge and lounge foyer. For weddings, we will allow small snacks to be eaten in the Mildred Collins Bennett Dressing Room on the second floor. Alcoholic drinks of any sort are not permitted anywhere within the chapel or on chapel grounds unless previously granted by the chapel office. For more information on our alcohol policy.
It is strongly suggested to use University of Puget Sound Dining & Conference Services for your catering needs. If you would like to self-cater or cater through another company, please contact the chapel office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 253.879.2751 for more information about requirements for doing so and approval.
Please note we do not have a kitchen available or public use.
The use and distribution of alcohol is prohibited anywhere on the grounds or inside the facility of Kilworth Memorial Chapel unless authorized by the Use Agreement and chapel office, and then only in compliance with the further limitations stated in the Kilworth Memorial Chapel Alcohol Policy.
We have a couple of options for scheduling time to decorate, provided the chapel is available. You are welcome to extend your reservation at a rate of $100 an hour to include decoration time or you may think about enlisting the help of friends and family to decorate during your rehearsal time. Decorations can be left in the chapel overnight provided that there are no other reservations between your rehearsal and wedding times. In addition, the wedding party must understand that chapel staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
It is important to contact the chapel office to see if your decoration ideas will fit with the chapel requirements. We do not allow tacks, staples, nails, tape, push pins, and so forth to be put into the walls or chapel doors to hang anything. You are welcome to hang some items on the pews, provided they have pew clips. Real candles can be used on stage or in the lounge, with a protective cover, but you will need to use battery-operated, flameless candles within the aisle and windows. Silk flowers are permitted, but if you are using real flowers, they must have a protective covering to catch any water. Any real flowers/petals used down the aisle, must be used in association with an aisle runner.

At this time, we do not permit outdoor ceremonies on the chapel grounds.
Yes, it is possible to host your rehearsal dinner and/or reception at the Chapel. Please contact the Chapel office for more information and pricing.
Yes! Student-run clubs on campus are welcome to use spaces in the chapel for meetings, provided that they schedule with the chapel office directly (email@example.com or 253.879.2751) and in advance. All spaces in the chapel are available for use and free of charge for student-run club meetings.
