Hello Puget Sound Faculty and Staff,

As you have read in Bob Kief’s updates regarding our faculty and staff appreciation events throughout the month of July, we plan to offer two Open House style programs on s Monday, July 19 and 26. This coming Monday July 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., we are going to offer a few different opportunities for our faculty and staff to experience some key areas of campus:

Welcome Center: We know that for so many of you, seeing the inside of this building has been a great interest. This is your opportunity to tour around the new space. We are going to open up the doors and let you look around. Staff will be on site to provide any answers you might be seeking. As part of this portion of the open house, we will offer some refreshments and snacks on the patio area.

Archives & Special Collections: The A&SC will be hosting an Open House as part of the staff appreciation events. On hand will be Helen Edwards who has been working on the National Endowment for the Humanities project, but also with the papers of her father, Dr. Edwards. Come on up to the second floor of Collins Memorial Library and meet Helen to learn about her work. Visiting artists Carletta Carrington Wilson and MalPina Chan may also be on hand. They are helping co-curate a book arts exhibition for next fall and will be examining our resources. And to add to the fun, you can have a look at our latest addition: the Over the Moon portfolio. And not to miss our photo trivia quiz! Hint: think Library images from A Sound Past!

Wheelock Kitchen: Have you ever wanted to know how we prepare all of that amazing food for our campus community? This is your opportunity to see it first hand. Michael Snoke, our executive chef, is offering this behind-the-scenes tour every 15 minutes beginning at 11 a.m. and ending at 12:45 p.m. Interested participants should meet at the cashier stations where the tour will begin.

We hope many of you are able to take advantage of these wonderful opportunities. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to reach out to me.

To the Heights!

Matt
