This year's event is designed to foster community, well-being, and a dose of healthy competition.

Thompson 193 Evolving Perspectives in the Health Sciences: From Macro to Micro to Digital Jared Perez

Jared Perez is an AI engineer for IFit building the next generation of health and wellness applications. He is a University of Puget Sound alum with graduate degrees in exercise physiology and biomechanics and doctoral research focused on cellular biology and digital signal processing.

In his talk, Jared will discuss his academic and career journey through the health sciences. From human performance optimization to microbiology to AI engineering, Jared will discuss his research in exercise physiology and redox biology along with his current work as an AI engineer to showcase how different scientific tools and approaches can be leveraged to pursue a singular goal.

This event is part of the Thompson Hall Science and Math Seminar series.

Wednesday, October 16 3:30p.m.-4:30p.m. Trimble Forum (116) Yoga Session: Supporting Our Lungs Liz Houck of Expand Yoga In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the lungs and the large intestines are associated with the fall season. This session will focus on gently opening space for our lungs. We will work the front, back, and sides of the body through some light pranayama, stretches focused on the shoulders and ribs, and practicing a few restorative postures that will allow us time to experience our breath. The aim will be to leave you feeling spacious, grounded, and better able to work with the energy of fall. Open to faculty/staff

The goal of the Movement Challenge is to find ways to incorporate activity into your day. We invite you to create and complete your own movement BINGO card with ideas for ways to increase your activity.

Choose 16 activities that you would like to do (including but not limited to events offers as part of the Movement Challenge) and write them on your BINGO card. Mark off activities on your BINGO card as you complete them. Bring your completed BINGO card (all spaces marked out) to the Office of Human Resources to receive your finisher prize.
