Mark your calendar for the Fall Parents Council Meeting taking place during Homecoming and Family Weekend, October 6-7, 2017.
The mission of the Puget Sound Parents Council is to engage Puget Sound parents in campus and regional activities that support the university, enrich students' college experience, and foster lifelong relationships with the university and among fellow parents.
As a current or past Puget Sound parent, you have a unique opportunity to engage in campus and regional activities that support the university and enrich students' college experience.
The Puget Sound Parents Council is led by co-chairs Lynn Stutz P'18 and Kenneth Stutz P’18, and is comprised of nearly two hundred parent volunteers. Each council member is expected to serve on one of five committees – Admission, Athletics, Career Development, Parents Fund, and Communications. The work of the Council is supported primarily by the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations. Liaisons from other departments provide additional support to the committees with which they work.
Admission volunteers represent Puget Sound to prospective students at admission events and participate in activities that welcome newly admitted students and parents to the Puget Sound community.
Career Development volunteers support the career development of Puget Sound students by: inspiring others to support/promote Puget Sound students; engage their student in career discussion and encourage use of CES services; and work with CES to become knowledgeable of career trends that impact Puget Sound students.
Parents Fund committee members encourage the participation of other parents in support of the Parents Fund. Members also serve as ambassadors by acting as liaisons between parents, students, and the college through dialogue with fellow parents about their student's Puget Sound experiences.
Parent Communications committee volunteers work to identify opportunities for improving the student and parent experience through enhanced communication to parents.
