2023’s program theme is "Global Citizen, Local Leader."
What does global citizenship have to do with local leadership? The ideals of global citizenship and civic interdependence are made real through personal behaviors, consumer choices, political action, and social engagement close to home. Most people have the greatest leverage in the communities where they live and work. FYI offers an excellent way for our incoming students to explore and think critically about how each of us has opportunities to, every day, build strong, healthy, equitable campuses, communities, and countries.
FYI offers a two-week program prior to new student orientation in which select incoming first-year University of Puget Sound students are provided the unique opportunity to get a head start on their journey to becoming a Logger by moving in early, meeting their advisor, learning with professors, and getting to know what to expect on their first day!
