In its fifth year, Madrid Summers is a Puget Sound faculty-led experiential learning program. Catering to students across the disciplines, it offers internships in the Sciences, Business, the Humanities, as well as rigorous courses of study in Spanish language, culture, and literary studies. Participants come together as the Puget Sound contingent in Madrid for a summer’s worth of hard work, exciting cultural opportunities, challenging internships, intercultural development, and marvelous social life.
Madrid Summers emphasizes intercultural communication as the basis of experiential learning, whether as a student abroad or an intern in a Spanish lab or company.
Our academic partner, Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, is a private, secular institution that prides itself in the quality of its instruction and its ability to provide personalized attention to its students. Our internships provider, OléSay, sources and supervises high-quality internship experiences in some of the choicest sites both public and private.
Madrid Summers tracks have different requirements from zero Spanish for the Science Research Internships to five semesters of college Spanish (Span 203 or above) for the Business and Humanities Internships.
