MA, Seattle University, 2000

A longtime Washingtonian, David has taught 100- and 200-level Spanish at Puget Sound since 2011. He developed the accelerated first year course (SPAN 110) and also serves as an advisor. His professional interests include the teaching of culture in introductory language courses and the use of technology in language learning.

Prior to Puget Sound, David taught Spanish for many years at both the high school and community college levels. An academic generalist by nature, he also holds K-12 teaching endorsements in history and German and has taught various other subjects alongside Spanish.

David loves spending time outdoors, often on bicycles of various sizes and shapes. An avid foodie, he frequents local farmers markets, worked on two small farms prior to becoming a teacher, and served on the board of directors of the Tacoma Food Co-op.
