Associate Professor, Sociology & Anthropology
Ben is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. He received his PhD in sociology from Arizona Sate University with a specialty in medical sociology. His first area of research examines the impact of pharmaceutical direct-to-consumer advertising on the relationship between patients and doctors. He is also examining the efficacy of home-visit programs for frail elderly individuals. Ben teaches a variety of sociology classes including Introduction to Sociology, Social Theory, and Sociology of Health & Medicine.
