Refugees, Language, and the Meaning of "America": An evening with Viet Thanh Nguyen
The Susan Resneck Pierce Lectures in Public Affairs and the Arts presents Pulitzer Prize winning author Viet Thanh Nguyen. Nguyen is the author of Race and Resistance: Literature and Politics in Asian America. In 2015, Grove/Atlantic published his novel The Sympathizer, winner of the 2016 Pulitzer Prize, and in 2017 published his short story collection The Refugees. He also wrote Nothing Ever Dies: Vietnam and the Memory of War (2016), finalist for the National Book Award in nonfiction.
