Information about Moving Out of your On-Campus Residence

For students who left campus but need to move out.
There are three options for students who have left campus but have not moved out. Following up on the April 21 message, here are details about the three options to retrieve your items. You will need to register to tell us how you want to retrieve your belongings and check out of your Spring 2020 room assignment. Check your Puget Sound email for the registration link and please complete your registration form no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6. If you did not receive the email, please contact reslife@pugetsound.edu.
 

Options Description Expense Financial Support

Option 1: Return to campus

If you are healthy and show no symptoms of illness, you will be able to return to campus between Wednesday, May 20 and Saturday, June 6 to retrieve your belongings. You will register for the date and time to return.

You could apply to receive financial support up to $200 from the CARES Act. CARES Act funding is not need based, but recipients must meet criteria for participation in the program under Section 484 of Higher Education Act. Details about seeking CARES Act funding will be emailed soon.
Option 2: Box and Store If you are not able to return to campus to collect your belongings because of illness or other reasons, your belongings can be boxed up and stored on campus. You will be able to retrieve your belongings later in the summer or we can store them through August. You will mail your key(s) back to campus. $200 packing fee Your student account will be charged a $200 packing fee. The packing fee qualifies for CARES Act funding. CARES Act funding is not need based, but recipients must meet criteria for participation in the program under Section 484 of the Higher Education Act. If you never filed a FASFA we may need to reach out to you for information to confirm your eligibility.
Option 3: Box and Ship If you are not able to return to campus to collect your belongings because of illness or other reasons, we will have them boxed up. If you would like property shipped home, contact Mail Services at mailservices@pugetsound.edu for assistance. You will mail your key(s) back to campus. $200 packing fee plus shipping costs (varies) Your student account will be charged a $200 packing fee. The packing fee qualifies for CARES Act funding. CARES Act funding is not need based, but recipients must meet criteria for participation in the program under Section 484 of the Higher Education Act. If you never filed a FASFA we may need to reach out to you for information to confirm your eligibility. You will be responsible to pay shipping costs directly to Mail Services.

Mailing Keys

If you need to mail your key(s) back to campus, please send them with your name and room assignment to the following address. Please use a padded or cardboard envelope to prevent the key breaking through the envelope.
