Roy Robinson

Roy Robinson and family on the Great Wall of China

Director, International Programs

Roy, spent his junior year abroad in Paris, France and suddenly realized what a big world there was outside of Missouri. He was hooked on international education. After working in international development in Washington D.C. and San Francisco, he wanted to see and experience some of the countries with which he was working. He joined the Peace Corps and served as a forester and beekeeper in Benin, West Africa. He studied Southeast Asia in graduate school and has spent summers in Guatemala and Vietnam. He was married in Florence, Italy and previously worked as a Study Abroad Country Director in Kerala, India. Roy has created and led study abroad programs to such diverse locations as Australia, the Czech Republic, and Thailand. Most recently he spent an academic year working and traveling on Puget Sound’s Pacific Rim program.

When not figuring out how to visit a new international location, Roy enjoys hiking, running, and being somewhat of a foodie. He also enjoys exploring Seattle and the Pacific Northwest with his family. A bit of a sports junkie, he’s always excited for the upcoming season and was in the stands to root for the Sounders when they beat Toronto for their 2nd MLS cup in 2019!
