Recovery during college can be difficult, especially when they use of alcohol is normalized among many students. We recognize that students attending Puget Sound may be in various stages of recovery for various reasons – from alcohol and other drugs to eating disorders. Wherever you’re at, we’re here to help.
The University of Puget Sound offers both a Healthy Options and Substance Free-living arrangement. Additionally, a weekly support group titled All Addictions Anonymous meets every Friday from Noon-1 p.m. along with a drop-in Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACoA) group. There are several recovery groups available in Pierce County for alcohol, marijuana, and other addictions outside of campus.
For some students, support from Counseling, Health, & Wellness Services (CHWS) may be another important resource for their recovery. For questions and further information, contact CHWS at 253.879.1555 or our Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator, Chris Edwards, PsyD, at chedwards@pugetsound.edu.
