Tacoma Talks occurs yearly at the beginning of the fall semester. They are for first-year students and are located across campus in large gathering spaces. Students have the ability to learn about different local organizations and opportunities to engage in the community from a variety of community members. There are usually a wide array of speakers, ranging from activists, artists, political organizers, and more. In addition to their organization's role in the community, panelists are asked to share their favorite parks, restaurants, coffee shops, and more. Students are encouraged to ask questions of their own to familiarize themselves with the panelists who live and work in Tacoma!
